Taratahi Agricultural  Training Centre has been successfully training Kiwis for agricultural careers since 1919.   Taratahi offers full-time courses, diploma programmes, short courses and an Agriculture in Schools programme which includes Primary Industries Trades Academy, STAR and extra mural study. The following link will take you to our course offered by Taratahi.

Introducing WIRS Term Pricing

For our regular term clients that would like to save a little extra and have the comfort of knowing that their term lessons are paid for, we now offer term prices for our group lessons.  Term start and finish dates match the published NZ primary school dates.  Qualifying lessons for WIRS Term Pricing are ½ hour, ¾ hour and 1 hour group lessons. Discount will only apply if paid in advance. Talk to the team.


PONY CLUB

WIRS are offering the official NZPCA centre membership Pony Club. We are are committed to expanding young peoples’ knowledge of riding and horse and pony care, making you feel a part of a world wide organisation which has given so many members great fun. Pony Club rallies are held every Monday, Thursday and every second Friday, through the school term.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES

WIRS provides a range of options to celebrate your childs birthday party.

We have parties at 3.30 pm on Saturday and Sunday for approx 1.5 hours. These include grooming, tacking up, and party games with the ponies. This party is $40.00 per rider with a minimum of 8 riders.

HOLIDAY PROGRAMMES

Our holiday programmes will be a fusion of fantastic horsey fun with practical learning. Programmes include riding lessons, stable management, theory, off road hacking/trekking, Gymkhana games and riding competitions.

 

TREKKING

Book in for an outdoor trekking adventure around the beautiful Ohariu Valley Hills. Trek through lush forests and rivers and travel up the hills to see the views of the valley below.

BEACH RIDES - Warmer days call for beach adventures

Fun trips can be organised with a minimum of 4 riders to our local beaches.

$90 covers transport to the beach plus $50 horse hire. If you are one of our @WIRS lease clients, transport cost only is payable.

WIRS will provide a guide for every beach trip.

If your group doesnt have 4 riders, contact WIRS and we will build a group.

Helmets must be worn while riding.
